Professional Mixing Engineer, Musician, Songwriter.

My Story.

My name is Jimmi Naylor. I’ve co-written, arranged and produced platinum selling records, achieving worldwide sales. I have played several instruments since age 11 (most dominantly the drums of which I am lucky enough to be endorsed by Zildjian, Ludwig and Vic Firth). I know just what it takes to transform a track into a record, and I give it everything to ensure a track sounds bloody exciting.

I am here to mix your music and do what it takes to get your track to reach it’s highest potential. A mix is a vital part of the production process and a great mix will help your music stand out to record labels or against other artists competing on the radio or streaming platforms.

I approach audio not just from a technical perspective, but from a musicians perspective too. Some of my musician highlights are performing on the other stage at Glastonbury Festival, headlining Alexandra Palace, London, and releasing top 10 charting singles and albums. But not only that, a major highlight for me has been creative, and making music which excites me in the best studios in the world, with amazing people. This includes working with the likes of Cenzo Townshend (The Rolling Stones, U2, Everything Everything), Stephen Street (The Smiths, Blur, Kaiser Chiefs) and Justin Gerrish (The Strokes, Vampire Weekend, Muse, D’Angelo, Weezer).

I know through my own experience, a song is not just a product, it is something you keep and cherish forever.

Let’s work together.

Examples Of Work.

‘Don’t Ever Say’ - Mixed / Produced

A band from Leeds who I watched at the Futuresound competition of Leeds. I saw a lot of potential in the song with the catchy verse guitar hook and vocal melody and went on to help re-arrange to song, produce and mix it. I played the drums too when their drummer couldn’t make the session.

‘American Love’ - Mixed / Recorded / Instrumentation

I recorded and mixed this peculiar track which sees an ariel pink meets 80’s new wave lost cassette feel. I also played synth parts and programmed the electronic drums.

‘What Can I Say’ - Writing / Arrangement / Production, Instrumentation

‘The Pigeon Detectives’ first 2 records projected an in your face punk-indie rock meets pop style, and while we were proud of the success, we began to seek a greater depth in songwriting and perhaps a greater depth our sound. This is one of my favourite songs with the band. I co-wrote and arranged the track. I played the drums, timpani, moog voyager and microkorg. I also worked with Justin Gerrish (Engineer / producer- Vampire Weekend, The Strokes) to get the mix to it’s final state.

‘Wolves’ - Writing / Arrangement / Production / Instrumentation

I worked hard with the rest of the band in developing the style, make up and instrumentation of the 5th ‘The Pigeon Detectives ‘ album ‘Broken Glances’. With ‘Wolves’ I always found it should have a dark and cinematic feel, yet still hold some lo-fi tendencies. Once we nailed this track, the rest of the album could easily follow suit, it became the DNA of the record. I played the drums (run hot through an Alice broadcast mixing desk), co-wrote and arranged the track.
